BMW had showcased the i8 Spyder Concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show and now after more than 3 years there has been reports of the model being made available soon. BMW Chairman Harald Krüger has reportedly confirmed it is finally headed for production.
Driving the hyrbid will be a 1.5 litre twin turbo three pot engine which will create 231 HP and 320 NM of torque. Backing up the petrol motor will be an electrical engine which gives the car an additional 131 HP and 320 NM of torque. The petrol engine in mix with the electric engine, creates a modest output of 362 HP and 570 NM of torque.
Details are vague regarding how much the production model will have in a similar manner as the concept yet the latter had a semi-straightforward hood, an open top outline and a daring windscreen with a coordinated spoiler. The model likewise had sharp back braces and a shortened wheelbase.
